Thanatos - Emerging From The Netherworlds

Thanatos is a Death Metal band from Holland. It seems that they were the first that played Death Metal in Holland. Emerging From The Netherworlds is their debut album and it is a great album. The later albums were not so good as this one. The drummer one this album did also perform on the Sempiternal Deathreign album The Spooky Gloom.

Loud Pipes - The Downhill Blues

Loud Pipes is a collaboration of musicians from several Swedish Metal bands and a Punk singer. These guys play a combination of Death and Thrash Metal with Punk. The result is The Downhill Blues, an album filled with 15 fast and furious songs. It is truly awesome!

Crustacean - Burden Of Our Suffering

This is something I didn't see at any Metal blog!
Burden Of Our Suffering is the debut album by the Dutch Thrash Metal band Crustacean. This album is fast and aggressive. Crustacean is heavily influenced by Slayer! I guess the die-hard Thrash fans will definitely love this!

Ritual Carnage - The Highest Law

Ritual Carnage is a Death/Thrash band formed by four Japanese musicians and an American Singer. The Highest Law is their debut album. It is brutal and awesome! The song Metal Forces is a tribute to all great Death and Thrash bands from the past: Celtic frost, Kreator, Possessed, Nasty Savage, Mecryful Fate, Slayer, Whiplash, Sodom & Venom, Razor, Destruction!

Home-made compilation!

I've made this compilation some months ago for the Sludge Swamp blog, they asked readers to send a selfmade compilation. So, this was my contribution; a compilation with mainly Doom metal. Ofcourse it has to open and end with My Dying Bride, they are my all time favourites!
And it contains an excellent cover from At The Gates, by Vedova: Blinded by Fear. Originaly a fast and aggresive song, but now slow and depressive!

Disfear - Soul Scars

Soul Scars is the second album of the Swedish Crust masters Disfear. It is a short, but awesome album! The singer is later replaced by the vocalist of At The Gates.

Matriarch - Revered Unto The Ages

Some very nice, (all female) Death Metal with some black influences from Puerto Rico.
Sometimes tecnical, then melodic, and it also has a whiff of Gothic Metal. Combined with heavy guitars and a dark atmosphere.
What I especially like is the diversity in vocals; grunt, scream, and soprano. Sometimes all together!

Sempiternal Deathreign - The Spooky Gloom

This band was back in 1988/1989 a big underground band here in Holland. Sempiternal Deathreign was a Death/Doom band influenced by Black Sabbath, Napalm Death and Hellhammer. The Creepshow Demo was already devastating, but this album is even better!

Victims is a Swedish band I saw once as support act for Municipal Waste and they did impress! These guys play a combination of Crust, Hardcore, Punk and Thrash Metal. So expect fast and raw songs! Victims made beside this split three albums and they're all great!
From Ashes Rise is an Hardcore Metal band from the U.S.A. I do not know much about them. From Ashes Rise shows with this split EP also some Crust influences. Great band!
